Alita is a service run by Alita Automatons (Douala, Cameroon). It helps businesses answer their customers on WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram, and prepare their Facebook and Instagram posts. This page explains what data we handle and why.
Data we receive
- Sign-up form: business name, your name, WhatsApp number, email, Page link, the plan you chose and your message. We keep a one-way fingerprint of your IP address to limit abuse, not the address itself.
- Accounts our clients connect: when a business connects its Facebook Page, Instagram account or WhatsApp number, we receive the access tokens needed (encrypted at rest), the messages and comments its customers send to the business, their public name and platform id, and the replies sent.
- Telegram: messages between the business and its Alita bot (approving posts, answering handoffs).
- Content the business provides: profile, brand voice, website, PDFs and text used as its knowledge base.
How we use it
- To write and send replies to the business's customers, on the business's behalf.
- To prepare posts, which the business approves before they are published.
- To hand a conversation to the business when the AI cannot answer.
- To produce reports for the business (common questions, missed opportunities).
- To contact you about your sign-up request.
We do not sell data and do not use it for advertising.
Service providers
Messages are processed by AI models through OpenRouter and the model providers it uses, only to write the reply. Messages pass through Meta (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp), Telegram and, if the business chose them, 360dialog or Ayrshare. Data is hosted on our own virtual private servers.
Retention
Conversations and posts are kept while the business uses Alita, and deleted on request. Database backups are erased after 14 days. Sign-up requests that don't go ahead are deleted on request.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data. If you are a customer of a business that uses Alita, you can also contact that business directly. See Data deletion.
